Issues of implementing the state program "Comfortable Housing and a Favorable Environment" were considered at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee
– The indicator of the accessibility of housing and communal services is the timeliness and completeness of their payment by consumers, which is directly related to their cost, – explained Yuri Dyadelo, head of the main department of housing and communal services of the regional executive committee. – According to consumer spending statistics, this item accounts for 5.2% of the family budget, which is quite comparable to spending on culture, recreation, and sports. Obtaining information and communication is more expensive.
The acceptability of utility costs is evidenced by the decrease in the need for non-cash housing subsidies: to pay for 591 thousand existing personal accounts, support from the state was required by only 1300 households in the region.
Yuri Dyadelo also noted that a colossal amount of work has been done in the region within the framework of the state program: 1.5 million square meters of housing stock have been repaired, and 99 iron removal water treatment plants have been commissioned in large and small settlements.
Two plants for industrial waste processing have been built in Vitebsk and Orsha. In Novopolotsk, a similar interregional complex for Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Rossony and Ushachi districts is currently under construction.
– Vitebsk region has the best performance in the republic for the production and sale of local types of fuel. According to the results of the first half of the year, the share of firewood, wood chips, and milled peat used was 74%, – noted the head of the main department of housing and communal services. – Also, this year, the modernization and launch of four heat sources are planned.
Special attention was paid to Beshenkovichi, which was transformed for the 1st stage of the regional festival-fair "Dazhynki" and is ready to welcome guests. The Chairperson of the District Executive Committee, Galina Unukovich, noted that the modernization of the town is the result of joint work of residents and authorities.
– Comfortable sidewalks, renovated roads, buildings, educational institutions – all this has made the lives of Beshenkovichi residents more comfortable, – states the head of the district. – Residents did not stand aside; on their own initiative, they improved the adjacent territories and tidied up – for this, they deserve immense gratitude.
