Elections-2025: CEC registers 5 presidential candidates

Five contenders have been registered as presidential candidates for the Head of State elections scheduled for January 26, 2025. This decision was made on December 23 at a meeting of the Central Election Commission of Belarus.

The following individuals have been registered as candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus (in the order in which the initiative groups submitted documents to the CEC): Syrankov Sergey Alexandrovich, Khizhnyak Alexander Nikolaevich, Gaydukevich Oleg Sergeevich, Kanopatskaya Anna Anatolyevna, Lukashenko Alexander Grigoryevich.

The registration of candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus was the main item on the agenda of the meeting. We remind you that in accordance with the calendar plan for the preparation and conduct of the 2025 elections, this procedure should take place from December 22 to December 31, 2024, inclusive: according to the law, it begins 35 days and ends 25 days before the elections. Election campaigning will take place from January 1 to January 25, 2025.

At today's meeting, the CEC also considered issues related to the approval of the form and text of the ballot paper, and the organization of voting for certain categories of citizens. A draw will also be held to determine the date and time of pre-election speeches by candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus on television and radio.
