The Olympic flame is lit and a symbolic bear: "Vytoki" starts in Glubokoye
June 23, Vitebsk region /Alesya Pushnyakova - BELTA/. The sports and cultural festival "Vytoki. Krok da Alimpu" (Sources. Step to the Olympics) has started in Glubokoye with a press tour and a sports festival. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
"It is symbolic that on International Olympic Day, participants and journalists became spectators of a sports flash mob from the Glubokoye District Children and Youth Sports School - 'Olympic Day - Sport for All!' The stadium recreated the atmosphere of the Olympic Games opening ceremony with all its mandatory attributes," the NOC press service informed.
Children enthusiastically took part in the flash mob, saw the Olympic flame being lit, and said goodbye to the Olympic bear, a symbol of future victories and high achievements, flying away into the sky on balloons. The event turned out to be bright and emotional.
"This is a celebration of Olympism, a celebration of victories, a celebration of sport. A health camp has been organized at our Youth Sports School for 80 children who decided to participate in this celebration. Almost all students of our sports school are involved here - about 220 people, and a total of 275 children attend it. The majority of them will be volunteers and will work at the venues for volleyball, Greco-Roman wrestling, and athletics," said Vladimir Boko, Director of the Youth Sports School.
