Residents of the Vitebsk region went out for May Day celebrations
Participants in the event include the administration, work collectives, educational institutions, public organizations, and residents of the Pervomaisky District of Vitebsk. Adults and children are engaged in improving the Park of the 30th Anniversary of Komsomol: they are cleaning up trash and foliage, painting benches, and planting flowers. They are also simply celebrating Labor Day, as there are many interactive areas in the park where everyone can find entertainment to their liking.
– The slogan "Peace. Labor. May" has not lost its relevance to this day. We all continue to value peace, which is especially relevant today, we remember that fruitful work is the key to the success of our district, city, and country, and May is still associated with the celebration of spring and renewal for us, – noted the head of the administration of the Pervomaisky District, Yevgeny Semyonyshev, in his welcoming speech. – It is no coincidence that the Park of the 30th Anniversary of Komsomol was chosen as the venue for the Labor Day celebration, as we plan to give it new life. In April, we already installed 50 birdhouses here, which are a real art object, and now we are continuing to improve the park.
The plans of the administration of the Pervomaisky District include renovating the benches in the park, installing trash bins, creating small architectural forms, eye-catching art objects, and much more. The complete renovation of the Park of the 30th Anniversary of Komsomol will take place in the summer.
The 30th Anniversary of Komsomol Park was laid out between Maxim Gorky Street and the right bank of the Western Dvina in the late 1940s by Komsomol members of the KIM Hosiery and Knitwear Factory. It was reconstructed in the 1950s. Approximately 200 trees and shrubs have been planted on an area of 3 hectares – Canadian and pyramidal poplars, common ash, birches, Norway maples, and red maples. The main alley of the park leads to the river beach. A sports palace "Komsomolets" was built on the northern outskirts in the spring of 1968.
The city of oil refiners widely celebrated May Day. Events dedicated to the Labor Day were held here until late in the evening. Thanks to the diverse program, everyone found something to their interests and liking.
Representatives of public organizations took an active part in the celebration – the Federation of Trade Unions, ROO "Belaya Rus", BRSM, the Belarusian Women's Union, the Red Cross, and others.
The main events unfolded in the Park of Culture and Recreation. Here, the best of the best workers of Novopolotsk were honored, and presentation sites of enterprises and organizations, and educational institutions of the city were open. Creative and sports locations were in high demand.
The atmosphere was truly inspiring and energizing. While middle-aged people enjoyed the concert, the youth were engaged in a presentation of professions organized by the city's leading enterprises. There was much to see at the exhibition of decorative and applied arts. Fascinating know-how in the form of master classes was presented at the site of the Center for Crafts and Traditional Cultures. There were also attractions, tasting of goodies from the local bakery, and other surprises from the organizers.
The location where volunteers providing assistance to homeless animals gathered attracted particular attention from children and teenagers. The mercy campaign "Be a Friend" was held here, collecting aid for the temporary shelter of abandoned pets. Lovers of our smaller brethren were consulted by a veterinarian on-site. And some homeless animals found their new owners right here...
And this is right – kindness, diligence, and mercy always go hand in hand.
The festive May Day event took place in Orsha. The trade union activists of the district, led by the chairperson of the Orsha District Trade Union Association, Oksana Pustoshilo, participated in the events.
The flash mob "All professions are needed - all professions are important!" was organized by the Miory District Trade Union Association for Labor Day.
Festive events were held in the central park of the regional center - Victory Park.
The festival "The Park Gathers Friends" took place at the cultural and recreational complex named after the Soviet Army.
In Polotsk, educational institutions of Polotsk joined the trade union May Day celebration on F. Skorina Square, including the trade union activists of the medical college, led by the chairperson of the student trade union organization, Yulia Tyukhlova.
