November 11 - International Energy Saving Day

This year, Belarus is celebrating the International Day of Energy Saving for the seventeenth time.

Vitebsk region traditionally does not stand aside from the holiday. Information and educational campaigns and conferences, exhibitions and open lessons are held throughout the region, and videos are being filmed.

Vitebsk region is the best region of the Republic of Belarus in the field of energy saving (according to the results of the republican competition "Leader of Energy Efficiency of the Republic of Belarus – 2023") - it solves several strategic tasks in the field of energy saving: reducing the energy intensity of manufactured products, reducing the republic's energy dependence on imported energy resources.

This year marks the end of the implementation of the State Program "Energy Saving" for 2021-2025. Even today, it can be said that the energy saving tasks assigned to the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee will be completed. Over the years of the program's implementation, enterprises and institutions of the region have achieved an economic effect of 436.8 thousand tons of conventional fuel. The target indicators for energy saving, for the share of local energy sources and renewable energy sources in boiler and furnace fuel, are being met.

Thanks to the systematically carried out work on the implementation of energy-efficient measures since the establishment of the International Day of Energy Saving, about 3031.2 thousand tons of conventional fuel have been saved in the region. The share of local energy sources in the total balance of boiler and furnace fuel of housing and communal services organizations, according to the results of the current period of 2025, has reached 76.5%. The indicator of replacing heat networks with pre-insulated pipes from the total length is currently 84.7%.

  Energy saving is a multifaceted process that encompasses various spheres of human activity. In essence, it is a way of life for the people. The future of our country largely depends on the value foundations of behavior that are instilled in children's minds during the learning process. The education system and the republican competition "Energomarathon" play a leading role in this process. Originating in the Vitebsk region, it carries the mission of forming an understanding of the importance of energy saving, energy efficiency, and the use of environmentally friendly energy sources for the entire republic.

          The ideology of energy saving is a complex of ideas, values, and principles aimed at the conscious and efficient use of energy resources to reduce the negative impact on the environment, save money, and ensure sustainable development. In general, the ideology of energy saving implies a transition from wasteful energy consumption to the rational and efficient use of resources, which contributes to improving the environmental situation, saving money, and ensuring the sustainable development of society.

Effective management of energy resources is the key to the sustainable development of our society. Only through the joint efforts of the state and citizens can we create a sustainable future for future generations.
