Alexander Rogozhnik presented passports to young Belarusians in Vitebsk
As part of the All-Belarusian campaign "We are citizens of Belarus!", 18 talented and gifted young men and women from the Vitebsk region received their passports.
On the eve of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus, the main document was presented to the children by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Rogozhnik.
– Children, today is a very significant day for each of you. In a sense, this is a transition to adulthood – the presentation of the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, – said the governor. – The Republic of Belarus is a rather young state in its new sovereign history. But over these years, we have gone through a significant path of transformations and achievements.
He recalled that the first cosmonaut of our country, Marina Vasilevskaya, flew into space. We built a nuclear power plant. Our Vitebsk trampolinists hold leading positions in world competitions. We built the world's largest mining dump truck. We are developing very dynamically in the field of food security. And today we are self-sufficient in everything.
– And all this is created for you, for the future generation, for those who will build and strengthen our beautiful Motherland. I sincerely congratulate you. You are the best representatives of the Vitebsk region! – Alexander Rogozhnik summed up.
Among those invited to the celebration was Alexandra Ibragimova, a student of the Vitebsk Cadet School.
– I actively participate in the public life of the school, I am involved in sports and plan to get a military specialty. I am very glad that I not only saw the head of our region but also received a passport from his hands. For me, receiving the main document is a kind of entry into adulthood, as a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, I receive rights and, of course, obligations. I am convinced that I can set an example of how to serve the Motherland and always be faithful to it, – Alexandra said.
– It's exciting, I didn't expect to receive my passport from the chairman of the regional executive committee. I professionally play football and dream of becoming either a footballer or a civil aviation pilot in the future. I already know which exams I need to pass and I am diligently preparing for them. I believe that true patriots should love their Motherland and achieve their goals, – said Matvey Asepkov, a student of Gymnasium No. 5 in Vitebsk named after I. Lyudnikov.
Activist and excellent student Alisa Komarova came to Vitebsk from Gorodok District. The student of Mezhenska Secondary School named after A. Kozlov, by the way, is included in the school's Honor Roll.
– I felt a little nervous, but I managed to control my emotions, – shared Alisa. – Receiving a passport is an important stage in everyone's life. I am proud that I received the document at the regional executive committee from the head of the region. This moment will remain in my memory forever. For me, being a citizen of my country means always remaining honest with the Motherland. I am keen on drawing and sports, and I manage to do everything thanks to effective time management.
After the documents were handed over, the children were treated to a legal quiz "I am a Citizen of the Republic of Belarus". In addition, an excursion to the regional executive committee was prepared for the guests.
