Alexander Subbotin: 'In construction matters, it is especially necessary to run ahead of the problem; this is a socially important issue'

In construction matters, it is especially important to anticipate problems, as this is a socially significant issue. This was stated by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, during a meeting of the regional executive committee, which considered the issue "On the fulfillment of construction and commissioning tasks for total residential building area in 2025". The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Sergeenko, and the Chairman of the Board of the National Bank, Roman Golovchenko.

– Construction is one of the main indicators by which the development dynamics of any region are assessed. For the Vitebsk region, the assigned indicators for commissioning residential areas have been growing for the fourth consecutive year. – noted the head of the region. – And we are fulfilling them. For 2025, 424 million rubles of investment in fixed assets have already been used for housing construction, including almost 60 million for the construction of utility networks. For 2025, the Vitebsk region has been set a challenging target for commissioning housing in the amount of 400 thousand square meters. It is important to identify problems that arise during the fulfillment of the task, and determine where to strengthen positions in order to cope with the set tasks.

As practice shows, noted Alexander Subbotin, there is a reserve in the construction industry in the Vitebsk region; they can build qualitatively and on time. Special attention should be paid to the delays in the design of apartment buildings. Therefore, before a house is planned to be built, funds for pre-project documentation should be provided in the district budgets, and thus, we should anticipate problems, concluded Alexander Subbotin.
