The former Carmelite monastery in Glubokoye was sold at auction for the base price

The building of the former monastery, built in 1735, where according to legend Napoleon stopped during his march to Moscow, was sold at an electronic auction for the base rate (45 Belarusian rubles).

The former Carmelite monastery is a two-story rectangular building with a basement, covered with a gable roof. The building is attached to the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This ensemble is a vivid example of the Baroque architectural era in Belarus.

Previously, the state property committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee put the monastery building up for auction 19 times unsuccessfully, but no buyers were found.

The new owner is a private organization from Minsk, which was the sole participant in the auction. The main condition of sale is its restoration as a historical and cultural value object.

In the future, it is possible to place an administrative and economic or religious (cult) purpose building here.

Currently, the committee is offering 5 more objects with the status of historical and cultural value for sale. These are the spirit factory building in the agro-town of Plamya, Senno district, a post station in the village of Pogorbenka, Senno district, a blacksmith's shop in the agro-town of Dvor-Nizgolovo, Beshenkovichi district, manor houses in the village of Goloshevo, Tolochin district, and in the village of Novaya Zhizn, Ushachi district.

It should be noted that all objects are offered for sale for one base rate. The mandatory condition of sale is their restoration.
