Dmitry Demidov met with the staff of OJSC "Vityaz" as part of the Unified Information Day

Without highly educated specialists striving for continuous improvement and acquiring new knowledge, it is impossible for enterprises like "Vityaz," which produce innovative products, to develop.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Dmitry Demidov, at a meeting with the work collective as part of the Unified Information Day on the topic "Education and Science – the Driving Force for the Development of Society and the State."

In his speech, Dmitry Demidov noted that Belarus is not rich in mineral resources, therefore everything created in our state is based on people's intellect, their professionalism, and patriotism. They work for the common good, and we need to cherish, value, and create conditions for the development of human capital.

State support for education plays a key role in ensuring equal access to knowledge for all segments of the population. Special attention is paid to state support for gifted pupils and students, and a special fund of the President is in place.

According to the Education Index in 2024, Belarus ranked 40th out of 193 countries.

The export of educational services is a promising area for international cooperation and strengthening humanitarian ties. Approximately 34,000 foreign students from 110 countries are studying in Belarus.

The intelligence industry is developing, for which a scientific landscape has been created, an interdisciplinary multi-vector structure has been formed, including academic, university, and industry components. This ensures the achievement of world-class results and science-intensive products, solves the tasks of scientific and technological sovereignty, import substitution, and export growth. Annually, more than 300 academic developments are implemented in various sectors of the economy, contributing to the increase of our country's competitiveness in international markets. For your information, the actual output of import-substituting products and services based on the developments of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, which have been implemented in the economy, is about 365 million dollars. One of the key positions in the development of innovative entrepreneurship is occupied by 14 technoparks, three of which operate in the Vitebsk region.
