Dmitry Demidov: "The implementation of the investment program of the Vitebsk region in 2025 can be called successful"
The implementation of the Vitebsk region's investment program in 2025 can be called successful. This was stated by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Dmitry Demidov, in response to questions from correspondents before the meeting of the presidium of the Regional Council of Deputies of the 29th convocation, which considered the issues "On the implementation of the Vitebsk region's investment program in 2025," "On the results of the implementation of the State Program 'Energy Saving' for 2021-2025," and "On the Youth Council under the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies."
"The funds planned for infrastructure development and the creation of new facilities have been utilized almost in full," noted Dmitry Demidov during the discussion of the first agenda item. "243 million rubles allocated to the 2025 investment program have been implemented at 98.5%. These funds have led to the creation of new healthcare and education facilities, including preschools, the development of housing and communal infrastructure, the installation of approximately 11 kilometers of new gas supply networks, and a powerful regional landfill for processing secondary material resources in the Novopolotsk region."
While investment growth is being ensured, there are also problematic issues. In particular, long-term construction projects became a topic of discussion for the presidium members. Among such facilities are a polyclinic in Polotsk and a kindergarten in Lepel. The funds allocated for construction and installation work at the Polotsk facility have been fully disbursed, energy-intensive work is nearing completion, and there are no prerequisites for not commissioning the polyclinic in 2026, assures the Chairman of the Committee for Architecture and Construction of the Regional Executive Committee, Andrey Golyakovich. At the facility in Lepel, landscaping work is underway, and the issue of financing the purchase of equipment and furniture for the future kindergarten is being resolved.
– Socially significant facilities must be completed, as this is about people's quality of life and the development of certain administrative-territorial units, – emphasized the head of the parliamentary corps, defining the message as understanding the reasons and making appropriate decisions to prevent such situations. Working on mistakes, in turn, will eliminate obstacles to the implementation of a serious investment program for 2026. This is the main goal: the development of social infrastructure, the improvement of people's well-being and the quality of life in the region.
