The Festival of Women's Initiatives "Slavic Aspect of Women's Entrepreneurship: Opportunities and Prospects" has started its work in Vitebsk
The event is held within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement concluded between the Women's Union of OJSC "Belagroprombank" and the Moscow Regional Branch of the Women's Union of Russia, with the support of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, VSU named after P. Masherov, and the regional organization of the NGO "BSZh".
The festival participants were warmly welcomed at VSU named after Masherov. There, they had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with an exhibition of scientific achievements of Vitebsk universities and works by artisans.
The significant role of women in modern society was emphasized by Olga Shpilevskaya, Chairperson of the NGO "Belarusian Women's Union", Director of the "Mir" TV and Radio Company's representative office in Belarus, and Marina Veremeenko, Chairperson of the Council of Deputies of the Solnechnogorsk urban district of the Moscow region, Chairperson of the Coordination Council of Women Parliamentarians at the Moscow Regional Branch of the Women's Union of Russia, who addressed the attendees. The Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Executive Committee, Anzhelika Nikitina, spoke about the development and support of women's business initiatives in the Vitebsk region. The Rector of VSU named after P. Masherov, Valentina Bogatyreva, discussed the scientific and educational potential of the university and possible directions for international cooperation. Elena Chernykh, Director of the State Enterprise "Cultural and Historical Complex 'Golden Ring of the City of Vitebsk 'Dvina'", spoke about tourism development in Vitebsk. The Chairperson of the regional organization of the NGO "BSZh", Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee, Marina Novitskaya, introduced the social projects of the regional organization.
Activists of the women's movement from the Russian side highlighted issues of expanding women's participation in export-import activities and ensuring their access to international sales markets, assisting women in developing entrepreneurial competencies in both countries, preserving and popularizing folk crafts, material and spiritual-cultural heritage, drawing attention to the origins of the Slavic world's identity, etc.
The charitable inclusive project "Corporate Social Responsibility: 'A World in Colors'" was presented by OJSC "Belagroprombank". Its initiative "Igrow Attraction Centers: Growing Business – Creating the Future" was also interesting.
During the festival, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the NGO "BSW" and the Moscow Regional Regional Branch of the Union of Women of Russia, as well as Memoranda of Cooperation between the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs "Ivolga" and VSU named after P. Masherov, and the cultural and historical complex "Golden Ring of the City of Vitebsk 'Dvina'".
The second day of the festival will take place in Polotsk.
