The 'Victory March' arrived at the Rylinki memorial complex in the Dubrovno district
The event was organized by the Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" and the Belarusian Athletics Federation, with the support of the republican state-public association "Presidential Sports Club". The event, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, aims to preserve historical memory, foster patriotism, and strengthen the unity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia. A delegation from the Russian Federation arrived at the "Rylinki" memorial complex in the Dubrovno district. Here, they were joined by Belarusian patriots. A solemn rally was held at the site where the memory of over 10,000 Red Army soldiers is immortalized.
– The international "Victory March" started on June 28 from Moscow, where about 2,000 people marched on foot for about 50 km. The route passed through various locations in the Russian Federation. A large number of people joined us. Upon reaching the Republic of Belarus today and crossing the border, we set a Russian Federation record for the longest walking relay race in history, – Anatoly Abalikhin, Executive Director of the interregional public movement "Health Forge," told reporters.
The next stop in the Vitebsk region is the mass grave of soldiers who liberated the Tolochin district in the urban-type settlement of Kokhanovo.
The "Victory March" will conclude at the Brest Fortress. Participants of this large-scale event are carrying a flask of water to this location.
– At the start in Moscow, it was handed over by a war veteran, Hero of the Russian Federation. During the war and today, water is a symbol of life. This flask of water has marched with us through all of Russia and will also march through all of Belarus. At the memorial complex, the monument on the Alley of Heroes in the Brest Fortress will be washed with water from it, – noted Anatoly Abalikhin.
Belarusian participants of the "March of Victory" will also carry a flask with water collected from a holy spring in the Dubrovno district to the legendary Brest. The column of athletes will be accompanied by "BelarusMobil".
