A large-scale farm reconstruction project has been implemented in the Glubokoye district
What is unique about this facility, and can it be said that the farm, whose condition at the beginning of this summer caused concern, has now become a benchmark for order, cleanliness, and the strictest technology for raising replacement heifers? To find out the answers to these questions, a correspondent from "Vitebskiye Vesti" went to the farm along with the participants of the field meeting of the district executive committee.
The first thing that caught our attention was a high concrete wall over 300 meters long and three barriers. The new fence looks beautiful. Everything is done as required by the President of the country for the safety and security of the existing livestock. Currently, there are about 200 calves on the farm, but soon there will be 5 times more. The massive buildings will not stand empty.
The need for reconstruction of this facility was dictated by the times. In past years, the "Ozertsy" farm was under all-Union subordination. The best specialists worked here, and advanced technologies were implemented. The "Kaminschina" MTP also got the first milking parlor in Glubokoye. Gradually, the leadership ambitions of the agricultural organization faded, which could not but affect the condition of the farm, the use of its livestock premises was inefficient.
But now a new chapter has begun in this story. From now on, the farm will raise heifers instead of a dairy herd. "Kaminschina" will become a kind of launch pad for achieving high production indicators in livestock farming for the integration structure based on OJSC "Glubokoye Feed Mill," which includes the unitary enterprise "Ozertsy."
– Agriculture is our foundation, without which further development of the region is unthinkable, – noted **Oleg Morkhat, Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee**. – Unfortunately, the number of rural residents is decreasing, but due to the construction and reconstruction of such facilities and the implementation of advanced technologies, production indicators should only increase from year to year. If comfortable working and resting conditions are created for livestock breeders on the farm, then there will be many who want to work.
And at "Kaminschina" there is everything necessary for raising breeding stock while maintaining all the requirements of the technological regulations.
– 9 young stock growers will work here, – reported Lyudmila Danilevich, First Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Food of the District Executive Committee. – The average daily weight gain of calves should be over 800 grams. Every little thing is important in animal care. For example, we calculated the number of tractors that will be constantly located here to promptly remove organic waste and keep the territory in order.
The cattle population in the district is 43.7 thousand heads, of which 17.7 thousand are replacement heifers. Speaking about the advantages of loose housing for cattle and the importance of achieving high weight gains, without which it will be impossible to fully realize the genetic potential of animals in the future, Lyudmila Ivanovna emphasized that more than a thousand replacement heifers will be located on this farm. This means it will become a kind of benchmark for other farms.
Participants of the field meeting inspected the premises, which were transformed after major repairs.
– The set tasks were completed on time through joint efforts, – said Oleg Morkhat. – Thank you to everyone who made maximum efforts to help the villagers. A training room has been equipped, and conditions for employees' rest have been created. In turn, we expect high production indicators from livestock breeders.
In addition to the capital repair of livestock premises with the replacement of necessary structures, windows, doors, feeding troughs, and partial repair of the roof, floor, and walls, the gravity-based manure removal system with hydraulic flushing, which had been in place for decades, has been re-equipped. The meliorators were able to correct many issues, and work in this direction will continue.
– The most important thing is that we managed to minimize manual labor, – Lyudmila Ivanovna emphasized. – Now it is important to ensure the required amount of feed for the livestock. Over the past few years, livestock premises have been reconstructed and repaired in the district, prophylaxis facilities and new silage trenches have been built.
In December last year, a number of enterprises in the district, including agricultural ones, became part of the Glubokoye integration structure, whose share in the region's total gross output exceeds 70%. This is a kind of locomotive for the economy of the lake region.
The reconstruction of this farm will make it possible to provide the agro-holding's farms with the necessary amount of highly productive young stock. This means there will be high milk yields and weight gains.
