Contracts worth 261 million Belarusian rubles were signed at the III Belarusian-Uzbek Women's Business Forum
The event was attended by parliamentarians, government members, heads of relevant ministries and departments, heads of regions, state organizations, enterprises, representatives of science, education, culture, women's and youth public organizations, and media from Belarus and Uzbekistan.
The forum is being held for the third time, and today the parties continue their dialogue on key areas of cooperation.
The agenda is structured to cover all levels of interaction: country, region, field of activity, economic entity.
Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova noted that the Women's Business Forum contributes to the implementation of high-level decisions.
– During the forum, commercial documents totaling 261 million Belarusian rubles and 18 documents on bilateral cooperation were signed, – she stated.
The two previous international events in Minsk and Tashkent were also fruitful.
– Organizations then concluded 30 contracts worth 235 million Belarusian rubles. 36 agreements were signed between social sphere institutions and local authorities, which became a starting point for the implementation of a number of joint initiatives. In full accordance with the spirit of the forum's final declarations, joint ventures are being created in pharmaceuticals, cooperation projects in the light industry are being successfully implemented, and poultry production has been launched in the Tashkent region. New varieties of Belarusian flax, potatoes, and berry crops are being grown on experimental fields in Uzbekistan, – said the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic.
Tractor assembly for cotton cultivation based on kits from our country has also been established. In addition, the states continue to exchange scientific experience between educational institutions.
– Beyond the economic component, the most important effect of the forum is the maintenance of established contacts. An event of this scale is, first and foremost, a platform for building trust, exchanging ideas, and developing joint approaches to solving global and industry challenges. It creates conditions for generating initiatives and projects that are unpredictable at the time of the event itself. This is an effect that is difficult to measure immediately; it manifests over time, – she emphasized.
Favorable conditions have been created to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan. The countries demonstrate stable economic growth, actively developing their industrial, innovative, and agricultural sectors.
Bilateral trade turnover shows positive dynamics, emphasized the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva.
– The volume of Belarusian investments in the Uzbek economy is steadily growing, – she said.
In the near future, the parties face the task of increasing bilateral trade turnover to 1 billion dollars. The governments of the states are actively working in this regard. Parliamentarians also intend to make every effort to create a reliable legal framework that will allow these agreements to be implemented.
– We are interested in continuing to work consistently to increase the scale of cooperation, paying attention to the implementation of joint projects in key industries, – assured Tanzila Narbaeva. – Today, contacts in the textile, pharmaceutical, electrical engineering, agricultural, and other sectors are already actively developing.
She specifically noted the work on joint production of cable and wire products in the "Angoren" FEZ ("Energokomplekt"), projects implemented by Belarusian partners in Uzbekistan for the assembly of Minsk Tractor Works tractors at AGROMAX TECHNIC, for the creation of capacities for the production of footwear (Grodno enterprise Accent), and the production of finished textile products under the Milavitsa and Kalinka brands.
– We have all the opportunities for creating new joint ventures in the field of sewing and knitwear production, as well as for the production of packaging materials for the food industry, – she added.
The III Belarusian-Uzbek Women's Business Forum brought together more than 200 successful entrepreneurs from both countries. The Uzbek delegation includes more than 60 women entrepreneurs, said Tanzila Narbaeva.
– We can confidently state that the goals we set have been successfully achieved, – she commented, noting that the parties signed a large number of new contracts, which clearly confirms the scale and practical significance of the forum.
Among the signed documents are agreements, memorandums of cooperation, and roadmaps that cover a wide range of industries: trade and economic sphere, industry, mechanical engineering, energy, agricultural and textile production, science, healthcare, cultural and humanitarian projects, regional cooperation, youth and women's initiatives.
