The 'Train of Memory' arrived at Vitebsk railway station
Today, Vitebsk became the new stop for 200 passengers – representatives of the peoples of the former Soviet republics, who together achieved a glorious Victory over Nazism in 1945.
– Today, on the Vitebsk land, we proudly welcome the "Memory Train" – an event that has already become a good tradition. You will visit only two cities in the Vitebsk region, and it is a little sad that you will spend only half a day in each of them. Our land is full of stories, and each of them deserves attention.
The Vitebsk region is famous for its heroic past. Fierce battles took place here during the Great Patriotic War, and you have the honor to pay tribute to our ancestors who defended the Motherland. I am sure that you, as representatives of your peoples, will fulfill this duty with honor and dignity.
