Science, technology, education. In which areas will cooperation between Vitebsk region and Jiangxi province be deepened
Deepening cooperation. The leadership of the Vitebsk region is holding a meeting with a delegation from Jiangxi Province, headed by Vice Governor Sun Hongshan.
The meeting is attended by Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, Deputy Chairman Anzhelika Nikitina, and heads of relevant committees and departments.
The trade turnover of the Vitebsk region with the People's Republic of China for January-August 2025 amounted to 195.1 million US dollars. Exports were carried out by 22 enterprises of the northern region.
Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin welcomed the guests to the Vitebsk land. He expressed hope that the agreements reached today will allow the parties to expand contacts and increase the degree of interaction in the most relevant areas of cooperation.
Relations with the People's Republic of China are the basis of our strategic partnership, a guarantee of political and economic development, and strengthening of international status, emphasized the head of the northern region.
He noted that since the establishment of business cooperation with the Government of Jiangxi Province, conferences on vocational education and training of engineering and technical personnel have been successfully held. The parties exchanged experiences in combating coronavirus infection.
Stable interregional ties have been established between the cities of Orsha and Nanchang. Joint work is underway in the fields of healthcare and education. Visits are exchanged annually.
In 2019, container trains began to regularly run to Nanchang, in the formation of which the logistics company "Bremeno-Orsha" participated.
Alexander Subbotin recalled that last year Belarus became a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. In September of this year, as part of its participation in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko outlined five priorities for our countries: multilateralism, security, sustainable development as the basis for stability in the region, food security, and industrial and scientific development.
The established contacts between the Vitebsk region and Jiangxi province allow us to learn about competitive advantages, adopt advanced ideas and technologies from partners in an open dialogue and trust.
– We see the key to success in the joint activities of enterprises, scientific organisations, cultural, educational, sports and tourism institutions, and in creating the most favourable conditions for attracting investors, – emphasised Alexander Subbotin.
