The Vitebsk region faces the task of harvesting crops qualitatively and on time. In my opinion, the most difficult natural and climatic conditions for harvesting in the country are, of course, in the Vitebsk region. Last year, the weather tested us with a multiple increase in precipitation. This year, the weather is also not treating us kindly, and today the task is, of course, to harvest without losses.
Vitebsk region agrarians have learned their lessons this year. We have prepared for the harvesting campaign significantly better than last year. As of today, our readiness is 99%. Last year at this time, the readiness was 91%, Sergey Levkovich clarified.
And without exaggeration, I want to say that there is probably not a single organization that is not involved in this work. Considering the available combine harvester fleet, we have the opportunity to harvest all grain crops in favorable weather conditions within 22 days.
62 new grain harvesting combine harvesters have arrived at the farms of the Vitebsk region.
All districts of the Vitebsk region have begun preparing the soil for sowing winter rapeseed as of today.
This year, we plan to sow at least 60 thousand hectares of this crop and have already begun plowing. Glyphosate-containing preparations have been prepared and applied to an area of over 60 thousand hectares to ensure clean crops in the future. This work is ongoing and will continue.
