A seminar-meeting with representatives of the headquarters of volunteer detachments of the Vitebsk region was held at the regional executive committee
More than 2800 volunteer patrol members are engaged in public work in the region, closely cooperating with territorial internal affairs bodies. With the participation of volunteer patrol members from Vitebsk region, 858 administrative offenses were suppressed; 312 residences under the control of territorial internal affairs bodies were inspected; 826 individuals undergoing preventive measures were visited; 9 wanted persons were identified.
The work of volunteer patrols was highly praised by the First Deputy Head of the Internal Affairs Department of the Regional Executive Committee, Head of Public Security Police, Colonel Alexey Shakhovich:
– The assistance of volunteer police auxiliaries is very important in everyday life, as well as during events of national and regional significance. You helped maintain public order during the Unified Voting Day in February 2024 and will do so again during the upcoming presidential elections, ensuring the safety of our citizens in cities and small towns through overtime work. One cannot be forced to be a volunteer patrol member – they become so by calling of the heart, for which we thank you very much!
Among those awarded for conscientious performance of duties as part of a volunteer detachment is Tatyana Teplyakova, labor protection engineer at the Lepel Bakery branch of OJSC "Vitebskhlebprom".
– For 15 years now, I have been the commander of a voluntary patrol at my enterprise, where I have worked for over 23 years. Like my colleagues, I became a patrol member thanks to an active life position: I really want people to feel calm and safe anywhere and at any time of day, so that laws and order in our country are not violated, – said the patrol member.
