A modern magnetic resonance imaging machine has been put into operation at the Novopolotsk hospital

В больнице Новополоцка введен в строй современный аппарат магнитно-резонансной томографии

A modern i_Field 1.5T Plus magnetic resonance imaging scanner of Chinese production has been commissioned at the Novopolotsk Central City Hospital.

The opening was attended by Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department of Health of the Regional Executive Committee, Igor Burmistrov, Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee, and Elena Furs, Member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

– All conditions are being created in our hospitals for the comfortable stay of patients and the work of medical staff. The conditions in which you work and the opportunities you have are important. I am confident that this device saves many lives, – emphasized Vyacheslav Durnov.

Interdistrict centers for providing medical care to patients with acute coronary syndrome and acute cerebrovascular accident operate on the basis of the Novopolotsk Central City Hospital, providing specialized medical care to the population of Novopolotsk and 10 districts of the Vitebsk region.

– The commissioning of the MRI scanner will allow for higher quality medical care not only to the residents of Novopolotsk but also to patients admitted to the interdistrict center. Personnel for operating the new high-tech equipment have been trained in advance, so they will start working literally from the first days, – noted Mikhail Vishnevetsky.

Currently, the MRI room will operate in test mode, but full-scale operation will begin soon.
– The MRI machine is high-tech equipment that will allow for very specific, in-depth research, and precise diagnosis of changes in organs and tissues. It includes numerous post-processing programs, including artificial intelligence, which will enable our doctors not only to examine pathologies more thoroughly but also to speed up the interpretation of these studies. Consequently, waiting times will decrease, and access to care will increase, – said Elena Zayats, head of the radiology department at Novopolotsk Central City Hospital. – This is an ideal machine for clarifying changes in cartilage, joints, ligaments, and very fine structures of the brain and spinal cord, which CT cannot detect. All of this elevates our healthcare to a new diagnostic level.
