On the Day of Unity of Belarus and Russia, a patriotic forum in Vitebsk gathered more than 100 student leaders of agricultural universities
On the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, more than 100 student leaders from two leading agricultural universities gathered in Vitebsk to share experiences, find like-minded people, and acquire new skills.
Welcoming the forum participants, the rector of VSAVM, Olga Gorlova, noted that friendship between our peoples has lasted for centuries, we wrote history together and continue to write it. Without mutual support, neither scientific research nor the educational process in its modern format is possible, as our curricula are largely common. Olga Gorlova emphasized that the Smolensk State Agricultural Academy is the closest Russian university both in distance and in profile.
The Vice-Rector of SSMA, Irina Fetisova, expressed confidence that the forum will become a starting point for the development of youth policy not only in civil-patriotic but also in traditional spiritual and moral education. This is because agriculture is largely the source of folk culture, and it was the villagers who created it.
An agreement on cooperation was signed between the universities.
Forum participants laid flowers at the memorial sign in honor of the students and staff of the veterinary institute who died during the Great Patriotic War.
