In Novopolotsk, at an off-site meeting chaired by Natalya Kochanova, issues of the efficiency of the housing and communal services were discussed
The work began with a visit to the Novopolotsk Regional Municipal Solid Waste Management Complex, where the meeting participants were introduced to the technology for processing municipal solid waste, an exhibition of finished products, and special equipment.
Next, the participants of the off-site meeting of the Council for the Interaction of Local Self-Government Bodies under the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus proceeded to discuss the main topic – measures taken to improve housing and communal services for the population, and the improvement of approaches and mechanisms for their provision.
– Housing and communal services are a priority in our activities. After all, people judge how the government works by the housing and communal services sector. If it's warm, clean, and bright, then it's good. We need to see and hear people, and based on this, make decisions that will yield results. You see more on the ground, – emphasized Natalya Kochanova.
The Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Belarus, Gennady Trubilo, outlined a number of the most important areas in the work of housing and communal services, including the capital repair of the housing stock, the activities of the 115 service, landscaping, and ensuring the population with centralized water supply and sanitation.
The Minister noted that currently, the housing and communal services structure of the Vitebsk region is working most effectively.
The Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Dmitry Petrusha, spoke about the progress of the State Program "Comfortable Housing and a Favorable Environment" for 2021-2025 in the northern region.
The experience of work on improving housing and communal services for the population, and improving approaches and mechanisms for their provision in the Brest region, as well as in the Shumilino district, was also heard.
Director of the Novopolotsk Management Company Albert Shakel dwelled in detail on the topic of capital and current repairs of the region's housing stock.
– We must control the situation that is developing in absolutely all directions. And where we see issues and problems, we must get involved. People keenly feel how local authorities work when housing and communal services issues are effectively resolved, – Natalya Kochanova summed up.
