An regional pedagogical conference of education and science workers was held in Vitebsk
Dmitry Khoma, Head of the Main Department for Education of the Regional Executive Committee, emphasized that the next five-year period in Belarus will be dedicated to quality, starting with the Year of Improvement, which aims to enhance the quality of life for citizens. He noted that investments in education create long-term positive effects for the economy, health, and social stability. This year, two new kindergartens have opened in Vitebsk and Novopolotsk, and construction is ongoing in Vitebsk, Lepel, and Orsha, with a family-type children's home being built in Glubokoye.
"VV" Reference. Over 92 million rubles have been allocated for major repairs and strengthening the material and technical base of educational institutions.
The head of the department focused on the importance of ensuring safety in educational institutions. 11 million rubles were directed towards these goals. He noted that 30 new school buses have been delivered to update the fleet.
– We must ensure the safety of students in educational institutions based on a comprehensive approach, improve the technical equipment of educational institutions with modern security systems, ensure quality control and safety of student nutrition, and organize transportation of children strictly in accordance with the law, – stated Dmitry Khoma.
Raising worthy citizens and patriots is a priority task. The head of the main department thanked all stakeholders for their systematic approach to the civic-patriotic and spiritual-moral education of youth.
– Work with society comes to the forefront. In the new academic year, it is necessary to interact more actively with the parental community, – he concluded.
Chairman of the regional executive committee Alexander Subbotin emphasized the importance of the issues discussed at the conference, noting that the formation of a harmoniously developed personality and the training of qualified personnel for the economy are key directions of the state policy of Belarus.
The head of the region noted that a solid legal framework has been created in the country for effective career guidance and labor education. He urged educators to help children align their abilities with the needs of the labor market.
– It is important to remember that career guidance work should include fostering a respectful attitude towards labor, – he added. – Understanding the prospects for professional development is an important incentive for targeted training and retention of personnel in their first jobs.
Alexander Subbotin pointed out the need for more active fulfillment of the requests of regional universities for training applicants in engineering specialties and specialties in zootechnics and veterinary medicine. The effectiveness of specialized classes should be an indicator of the quality of career guidance work of educational institutions.
– Parents, children, and teachers should understand that selection for a specialized class is a statement of the student's professional intentions, – the head of the region noted. – The formal approach to opening and operating such classes needs to be reviewed. At least 50% of graduates should enroll in their chosen field.
Involving youth in labor is a strategic task that addresses not only employment issues but also crime prevention. Alexander Subbotin noted the importance of involving teenagers from low-income and large families, who are registered with various services, in labor employment. He expressed satisfaction that this year it was possible to significantly increase the indicators of labor employment of minors in cooperation with the committee and departments for labor and social protection.
At the August conference, educators were thanked for their work, the achievements of their talented students were recognized, and certificates of honor, commendations, and monetary certificates for improving the material and technical base of educational institutions were awarded.
