A dialogue platform dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus was held in Vitebsk

В Витебске состоялась диалоговая площадка, приуроченная к Дню Конституции Республики Беларусь

Participants of the dialogue platform "Constitutional Law in Educational and Ideological Practice" actively discussed the role of the Basic Law in shaping civic consciousness and patriotism, as well as the influence of the Constitution on the development of legal culture in modern Belarusian society. The event was held at the International University "MITSO".

The speakers included Anatoly Petrov, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Jurisprudence and Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines of the Vitebsk Branch of the International University "MITSO", and Larisa Dorogova, Director of the RCPR of the Vitebsk region.

— I presented to the youth the textbook "Constitutional Law", published for the third time, with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. Today, this is one of the few sources that reflects the changes made to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus at the 2022 referendum. The textbook also analyzes other normative legal acts adopted to implement the norms of the Constitution, and examines in detail the constitutional and legal status of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly. Young people should know their rights and responsibilities, understand the principles of state structure, and actively participate in the life of the country. Therefore, we strive to convey to them up-to-date and reliable information about the Basic Law, its significance, and practical application, – noted Anatoly Petrov.

Larisa Dorogova presented the scientific and practical commentary on the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus to the students.

— The commentary clearly explains the constitutional provisions by which our society and all citizens of Belarus live and develop. It is worth noting that it helps students, future lawyers, to analyze legal norms, forms an active civic position and legal responsibility, – emphasized Larisa Dorogova.

Also, the participants of the dialogue platform familiarized themselves with the exhibition "The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus – a symbol of sovereignty and prosperity". The exposition featured thematic literature that highlights the process of development and adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus.

— It was useful for me to visit this dialogue platform, as I am writing a scientific paper on constitutional law. This is a fundamental concept on which the entire legal system is based. Such meetings contribute to the development of legal literacy and understanding the significance of the Basic Law for the stable development of the state and society, – said Darya Mitnikova, a student of the International University "MITSO".
