Working groups have been established in the Vitebsk region to coordinate the work of educational institutions in adverse weather conditions

Weather conditions are monitored daily, and issues related to organizing student transportation, timely removal of icicles, ice, and excessive snow load on building roofs are kept under control.

The Main Department of Education of the Regional Executive Committee reminded that the decision on the temporary cancellation of classes due to adverse weather conditions in general secondary and special education institutions is made by local executive committees when the air temperature at 7:00 AM is -25°C or lower with a wind speed of more than 3 m/s.

The administration of educational institutions is authorized to limit students' outdoor stay: for children under 3 years old – at temperatures from -15°C; from -18°C – for children aged 3 to 7 years; for children over 7 years old – from -22°C.

In each district of the region, educational institutions located near roads have been identified and agreed upon with territorial traffic police departments, where, if necessary, temporary accommodation points for citizens will be promptly organized with hot meals provided.
