«The Great May of the Great Victory»: more than 40 art compositions are presented at the exhibition in the Vitebsk shopping center "Trio"
The exhibition includes works in which the current generation tries to convey the experiences of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers who endured the hardships of the war. The exhibition was organized by the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian party "Belaya Rus" and VSU named after P. Masherov.
– This project aims to make as many people as possible remember the days of trials that befell our country, the defenders of the Fatherland, and to meet the Great Victory Day as befits the heirs of the victors, – noted Valentina Bogatyreva, chairperson of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Belarusian party "Belaya Rus" and rector of VSU named after P. Masherov.
The exhibition features over four dozen art compositions from various parts of the Vitebsk region. These are works created by members of "Belaya Rus," schoolchildren, and kindergarten students. The exhibition also includes two projects by the Novopolotsk city branch of the party – "The Artist Who Defeated Fascism" and "Stalag 354." The latter is dedicated to one of the tragic pages in the history of the Great Patriotic War – a camp organized by the fascists on the territory of the Borovukha-1 military town, where 29,000 Red Army soldiers were held from 1941 to 1944, and 18,000 of them died.
Valentina Bogatyreva also spoke about other "Belaya Rus" projects dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory. In particular, about the "Victory Dictation," which will be written on the Minsk-Moscow train, an updated digital museum dedicated to Pyotr Masherov, and an internet platform that collects memories of participants and witnesses of the Great Patriotic War.
