'Return to your small homeland' is the motto chosen for the next five-year period in the Vitebsk region
This idea was voiced at a meeting of participants of the seventh All-Belarusian People's Assembly from the Vitebsk region, which took place at the regional executive committee, by the Deputy Chairman of the regional executive committee, Anzhelika Nikitina. This motto is in tune with the main message of the head of state: the country's strength lies in strong regions.
In her report, the Deputy Chairman of the regional executive committee analyzed the socio-economic development results of the Vitebsk region in 2021-2025 and spoke about the prospects for the strategic development of the region for 2026-2030.
– It should be noted that the main directions have been fulfilled by the Vitebsk region. We have grown in the main indicators of socio-economic development over four years. Gross regional product per capita has increased 1.9 times, and the salary level of 2 thousand rubles has been reached. It can be said that all main parameters, including industrial production growth, retail trade, public catering, passenger turnover, construction and installation works, and others, have been fulfilled by us, – noted Anzhelika Nikitina. – A lot of attention is still paid to the development of the social sphere. As four years ago, more than 60% of the budget goes to this sphere. A number of social facilities have been built – schools, kindergartens, sports grounds, sports and recreation centers, polyclinics, a new surgical building of the regional hospital is under construction, the reconstruction of the regional infectious disease hospital is being completed, almost a third of housing was built in the regions. And all this is for the successful life of our people.
Anzhelika Nikitina noted that a lot of attention was paid to the education system, and as a result, students from the Vitebsk region today hold leading positions not only in secondary education but also in vocational education. The number of targeted contracts has almost tripled, and young specialists are staying to work at local enterprises. This dynamic is observed in 17 districts of the Vitebsk region. What has been done for the benefit of their fellow countrymen is yielding results.
The motto "Return to your small homeland," emphasized the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, is relevant not only for young people who go away to study and then return to their native places, but also for those people who have already established their business, so that they return to their small homeland as investors.
