Vitebsk region selects the best youth initiatives for the republican stage
A meeting of the regional expert commission for the evaluation and selection of applications for the republican competition of youth initiatives is being held at Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov.
The main areas for determining the best initiatives include information technologies, the creation of creative spaces for communication, and patriotic education.
– Today, the commission will be presented with over 40 projects from all regions of the oblast. We face a difficult choice among many interesting ideas, – emphasized Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Oblast Executive Committee. – Thanks to the active support of the local authorities, even those projects that do not advance to a higher level will be able to be implemented locally. This will not only give young people valuable experience but also provide a powerful impetus for their future activities.
Anzhelika Nikitina, Deputy Chairman of the Oblast Executive Committee, noted the economic value of youth initiatives and emphasized that for the real sector of the economy, this is primarily an opportunity to identify promising projects and talented young people.
– We actively support such endeavors, seeing in them a chance to select future employees for enterprises. This practice already exists at the level of higher and vocational educational institutions, where promising students are not only invited for interviews but also employed in the economics committee, – noted Anzhelika Nikitina. – Any challenge is a step towards improvement; one must believe in oneself and one's abilities. Every presented project has the right to exist, and the regional authorities are ready to assist in its refinement and implementation.
Valentina Bogatyreva, Rector of VSU named after P. Masherov, expressed great hopes for the new ideas presented by the event participants.
– Even with possible setbacks in the initial stages, it is important to be persistent and move towards your goal step by step. Set ambitious goals and achieve them while staying true to yourself, – Valentina Bogatyreva addressed the event participants.
Vyacheslav Khrol, Deputy Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs, emphasized the large number of opportunities and projects currently being implemented in the country.
Zhanna Naritsyna, First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the BRSM, explained that the competition of youth initiatives is a project of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, where the BRSM acts as a facilitator. The organization's task is not only to attract youth to participate but also to train young people on how to properly prepare an application and turn a small idea into a full-fledged project.
– It is important that young people's ideas are noticed, and winning the competition can provide good financial support for the project's implementation, – said Zhanna Naritsyna.
Anna Bumazhenko, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Preschool and Primary Education of VSU named after P. Masherov, Chairperson of the University's Council of Young Scientists, presented a project called "Inclusive Festival 'Co-creation'".
– This festival is created specifically for people with psychophysical development peculiarities and disabilities. Our main goal is to give them the opportunity to fully express themselves and reveal their talents, – said Anna Bumazhenko. – We want them to be not only participants or spectators on our platform but also scriptwriters and volunteers.
Representatives of the districts are also actively involved. Thus, Veronika Goryunova, a specialist in youth work at the Liozno District Executive Committee, presented projects for improvement: the creation of a youth recreation area on the central beach of Lake Buevskoye and the construction of a skate park, and Violetta Muzheleva presented "Sounds of the Native Land".
– I represent a patriotic project from the Liozno Tourist Information Center, aimed at developing tourism in the region. Specifically, the creation of a new tourist route, which will be equipped with new art objects, in particular, Babinovich whistles, – emphasized Violetta. – The project is focused on attracting attention to local cultural features and fostering patriotic feelings.
