No one is forgotten and nothing is forgotten
In anticipation of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, in memory of this historical event, of the feat of the Soviet people, with the aim of fostering a respectful, caring attitude towards the events of the Great Patriotic War, war and labor veterans, the prosecutor of the city, Romanovsky Yu.V., organized a visit to the burial sites of veterans.
Representatives of the Vitebsk City Prosecutor's Office visited the burial site of a Great Patriotic War veteran, the prosecutor of the Zheleznodorozhny District of Vitebsk, Senior Counselor of Justice Zakhoroshko Pyotr Martynovich.
During the Great Patriotic War, Zakhoroshko P.M. was an active participant in battles against the German fascist invaders on the Western, Central, and 2nd Belorussian Fronts. Having become acquainted with the combat activities of Zakhoroshko P.M., it can be confidently stated – "the sky submitted to him!": an aerial scout, a fighter pilot, over 1400 combat sorties! The Order of the Red Banner, the Orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st and 2nd degrees, and the Order of the Red Star are far from a complete list of the awards received by Pyotr Martynovich for his displayed courage, bravery, and valor.
Subsequently, from 1948 to 1972, Zakhoroshko P.M. dedicated his life to serving in the prosecutor's office. Pyotr Martynovich did a great job in the prosecutorial field; holding various positions, he always ensured the performance of his official duties at the proper level and in accordance with the "letter of the Law." For conscientious performance of official duties, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the BSSR dated 18.12.1968, Pyotr Martynovich was awarded the title of Honored Lawyer of the Belarusian SSR, and by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated 25.03.1976, for labor achievements in peacetime, he was awarded the Order of the October Revolution.
"The Great Patriotic War has ended, but we must not forget the heroic traditions of the past. We must remember that the independence of the Republic of Belarus was "forged" during the years of the Great Patriotic War. It is within our power to honor and sacredly preserve the memory of the truly Great Victory, as well as to know the names and faces of the defenders of our Fatherland," – are convinced in the Vitebsk City Prosecutor's Office.
