On the unified register of licenses

From July 1, 2020, the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of June 24, 2020 No. 365 came into force, which provides for the introduction of the Unified Register of Licenses – a state information system containing data on issued special permits (licenses).

The specified resolution was adopted in development of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of September 2, 2019 No. 326 "On Improving Licensing", which optimized a number of issues related to obtaining licenses.

The register includes a specific list of information about subjects of licensing relations, such as the name of the subject, the date of obtaining the license, its number, the type of activity for which such a license is issued, its validity period, and others.

Such information is publicly available, with the exception of information about individuals who have licenses for the collection and exhibition of weapons and ammunition, as well as other information access to which is restricted by legislative acts.

Access to the register is provided via the Internet (license.gov.by), which allows any user to quickly establish the existence of a valid license for a particular type of activity for a legal entity or individual entrepreneur.

The functioning of this system ensures the availability of such information for economic entities, which will help avoid certain risks in conducting economic activities, including when concluding transactions.
