Ensuring safety at transport facilities, prevention of non-occupational injuries: a coordination meeting was held in Vitebsk
A coordination meeting on crime and corruption prevention, chaired by Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor Konstantin Shienok, was held to address issues of public order protection at transport infrastructure facilities, countering destructive manifestations, unauthorized use of airspace, and preventing injuries to citizens by railway transport.
The meeting was attended by V.K. Kolbun, Senior Assistant to the Regional Prosecutor for Supervision of Legislation Enforcement in Transport and Customs Bodies, as well as representatives from the KGB Directorate for the Vitebsk Region, the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Orsha Department of Internal Affairs on Transport, the Vitebsk Branch of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels, the Vitebsk and Minsk Divisions of Belarusian Railways, the Vitebsk Branch of RUE "Belaronavigatsia," and OJSC "Gomeltransneft Druzhba."
"To date, a comprehensive approach to public order protection at transport infrastructure facilities has ensured a stable operational situation. However, over the past 10 months, 10 people have been injured in non-production-related accidents at railway transport facilities in the region, with 8 fatalities. The issue of countering unauthorized use of airspace, including with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, remains relevant for the Vitebsk region. Issues of preventing both unlawful behavior and fatalities resulting from intentional violations of safety requirements, both on the ground and in the air, require increased attention and coordinated actions from all prevention entities," noted the Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor.
D.V. Kazakevich, Senior Inspector for Special Assignments of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, delivered a report on the measures taken to prevent offenses and crimes at transport facilities. A.S. Shilov, Chief Engineer of the Minsk Division of Belarusian Railways, spoke about the work being done to prevent non-production-related injuries.
Based on the results of the meeting, it was decided
a set of additional organizational and practical measures to improve the effectiveness of the work of prevention entities in the specified areas.
