Regional Agricultural Production: Vitebsk region grain growers to cross harvest equator by evening of August 15
Last weekend, the 500,000th ton of grain was threshed. In a few days, the agrarians will reach last year's figure (683.7 thousand tons were harvested on the same date). This is facilitated by higher yields – 5.1 centners per hectare higher.
The threshing of winter rapeseed is nearing completion (95.2%). The Orsha (21.8 centners/ha), Verkhnedvinsk (18.8 centners/ha), and Vitebsk (18 centners/ha) districts are leading in terms of yield. For the 2023 harvest, 12.4 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed have been sown (20.7% of the planned area).
Flax has been pulled from 9.5 thousand hectares (80.1%), and 1.9 thousand tons of flax straw of average grade 0.97 have been harvested.
The procurement of feed from the second mowing is ongoing. 85.2 thousand hectares have been mown (85.3%), and 14.33 centners of feed units per conventional head of cattle have been procured (+0.56 centners of feed units compared to last year's figure).
