Regional Agricultural Production: 14 districts of the Vitebsk region have started sowing
As of the morning of April 11, over 1.9 thousand hectares, or 1% of the target, were sown with grain and leguminous crops. Winter grain and cruciferous crops are being top-dressed in the farms. In total, work has been carried out on 73 thousand hectares. The removal and application of organic fertilizers continue.
In general, the spring sowing area will be 314 thousand hectares, including 135 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops, about 19 thousand hectares of cruciferous crops, 80 thousand hectares of corn, and 11 thousand hectares of flax.
In autumn, 234.9 thousand hectares were sown with winter grain crops (33 thousand hectares more than for the 2021 harvest), and 75 thousand hectares with cruciferous crops. Significantly more fallow land was plowed (a total of 221 thousand hectares), which will speed up spring plowing.
