Regional Agricultural Products Department: Five districts of Vitebsk region fulfilled the state order for grain delivery
The plan has been fulfilled by more than 90% in Tolochin, Miory, Postavy, and Rossony districts. The fulfillment of the task in the remaining regions of the region ranges from 50% to 90%.
Heavy rains have significantly impacted the harvesting campaign in the region in recent days. Over the past day, only the Vitebsk, Lepel, and Senno districts have been without significant precipitation. Unfavorable weather conditions have slowed down the pace of harvesting throughout the region, allowing combine harvesters to enter the fields only by midday in most cases. As a result, as of the morning of August 26, 296.7 thousand hectares have been harvested in the region, or 84% of the plan. 938 thousand tons of grain have been threshed, which is 46 thousand tons more than last year's level.
The average yield is 31.6 centners per hectare. The highest yields are being harvested by farmers in the Orsha and Vitebsk districts - 42.5 centners per hectare and 40 centners per hectare, respectively. In the former, the threshing has already exceeded 100 thousand tons, while in the latter, only 4 thousand tons are left to reach this significant milestone.
Forty farms in the region have completely finished harvesting grain. Among the districts, Postavy district is closest to completing the work, with 99% of grain areas harvested. If the weather permits, harvesting will be completed here today.
