Agro-Industrial Complex Committee: Vitebsk region has reached maximum pace of harvesting
Now everything depends not only on favorable weather conditions but also on the dedication of the machine operators working in the field, and they, as a rule, do not let us down. Each day of the harvest brings new achievements. Thus, last Friday, the family crew of Valentin and Vladislav Laptinsky from KUSHP "Mezhevo-Agro" of the Orsha district surpassed the mark of two thousand tons of grain. By the way, the father and son were also the first to reach a thousand tons in the region. The fourth harvesting campaign is going very successfully for them, possibly because Valentin, a machine operator with vast experience and seniority, has entrusted his son with the leading role in their work duo, while he himself works as an assistant combine operator.
According to the regional trade union organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Agricultural Workers, as of last Friday, 17 crews involved in grain harvesting (11 of them work in the fields of the Vitebsk district), 1 crew on rapeseed, and 8 crews harvesting both grain and rapeseed had threshed a thousand tons in Vitebsk region.
As reported by the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee, as of the morning of August 2, 157.1 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been harvested in the region, or 47 percent of the plan, with 439 thousand tons of grain threshed. The average yield is 28 centners per hectare. The agrarians of Vitebsk and Orsha districts continue to lead in this indicator, with agricultural organizations of the Polotsk region not lagging behind them. By the way, as noted in the Committee for Agriculture and Food, rapeseed has been almost completely harvested in Vitebsk region, with about 500 hectares remaining in these fields. As for grain and leguminous crops, there is still plenty of work for combine operators and drivers, which means there will be new records!
