Regional Agricultural Production: all agricultural crops have successfully overwintered

According to the preliminary plan, the total sown area of agricultural crops will be 786 thousand hectares. This year, 354.7 thousand hectares are allocated for grain and leguminous crops, cruciferous crops – 93.4 thousand hectares, flax – 12 thousand hectares, vegetables – 300 hectares, and corn will occupy 100 thousand hectares. 20 thousand hectares will be used for the production of our own seeds of the queen of fields, the rest will be used for silage harvesting. A feature of this year will be an increase in the sown area of buckwheat – from 400 to 1200 hectares.

As noted by Valery Nerozya, Head of the Department of Agriculture, Crop Production and Fodder Production of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Agriculture and Food Committee, winter sowing slightly reduces the workload on agrarians, and, incidentally, as the analysis showed, all crops have successfully overwintered.
