Regional Agricultural Production: Farms in the Vitebsk region have harvested more than half of the corn acreage

As of the morning of October 12, 52.4 thousand hectares of this crop have been harvested in the region, or 51% of the plan. 1 million 280 thousand tons of green mass have been harvested with an average yield of 245 centners per hectare. More than half of the areas have been harvested in 12 districts of the region. At the same time, the farmers of Verkhnedvinsk (89% of the target), Postavy and Polotsk districts (both over 78%) have gained the highest work rates. At the end of the rating are Ushachi (30%) and Orsha (22%) districts. In the latter, the result is to some extent justified by the fact that this year the largest area of corn in the region is to be harvested here – 12.6 thousand hectares.

The harvesting of vegetables in the region continues at an active pace. This year, 303 hectares are occupied by them, 55% have already been harvested. 7.6 thousand tons of vegetables have been harvested with an average yield of 457 centners per hectare. As of today, farm workers have 8 hectares left to harvest out of 50 hectares of beets (average yield is 319 centners per hectare) and 48 hectares, or 45.7%, of carrot areas. Cabbage has been harvested from 12% of the areas.

This year, 1.6 thousand hectares have been allocated for potatoes in the region. The second bread has already been harvested from 88% of the areas. 61.4 thousand tons of this crop have been dug up. At the same time, farmers of Vitebsk region get 373 centners from 1 hectare – this is the highest potato yield in the republic. It is planned to completely harvest it by the end of this week, and the remaining vegetables – by the end of the month.
