Regional Health Department: An increase in COVID-2019 cases is expected in the Vitebsk region in September

As reported by Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the epidemic situation in the region has been calm in recent months, with an increase in diseases expected in September.

– Everything is predictable, we are preparing for it. I would like to remind the public about vaccination once again. In the Vitebsk region, there are about 200 vaccination points currently operating, open in healthcare facilities, shopping centers, and other locations. Their locations are available on the information network, – noted Mikhail Vishnevetsky. – There are sufficient quantities of vaccines: the Chinese vaccine is used for pregnant women and children, whose vaccination starts from 5 years of age. For the adult population aged 18 and older, we have "Sputnik-Light" and "Sputnik".

As for the new "Ninja" strain, it is one of the variants of "Omicron," which is already known to us, and it does not have any particularly acute specifics. Therefore, timely vaccination will be the best preventive measure. There is no need to be afraid of it. But one must be cautious! Two years of living with the pandemic have given each of us a certain experience.
