Regional Health Department: Reconstruction of Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital to begin next year

Construction of a new operating and resuscitation ward at the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital will begin next year. This was announced by Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

According to the head of the regional health department, the pre-project documentation for the facility has already been completed, and the funding source is currently being determined. "The reconstruction of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital is being carried out on the instructions of the head of state. The first phase is the construction of a new ward, which will be attached to the hospital. It will house operating rooms and resuscitation departments. All operating departments will move to the new ward so that we do not stop the hospital's operations, as it is the main healthcare institution in the region. It has many specialized departments that are not available in other institutions. Therefore, we are starting with the construction of the new ward. We are determining the funding source, as the resources are quite substantial. We are currently working on the design documentation for the first ward, and we plan to start construction and installation work next year," said the head of the regional health department.

Currently, the hospital has 27 departments. It provides specialized planned and emergency medical care to residents of the northern region. More than 50,000 people receive care in the admission department annually, and over 35,000 patients are treated in the inpatient department.
