Regional Health Department: The incidence rate of COVID-19 in the Vitebsk region allows for a gradual reduction in the number of beds allocated for patients with confirmed COVID-19 infection

The total bed capacity allocated for coronavirus patients in the region is 2.8% of the total bed capacity.

Infectious disease departments for coronavirus patients are still open in Glubokoye, Novopolotsk, and Polotsk. The remaining central district hospitals have returned to normal operation.

In Vitebsk, citizens diagnosed with COVID-19 are directed for treatment to the regional clinical infectious diseases hospital, infectious disease departments of the regional clinical hospital, the city emergency hospital, and the regional clinical maternity hospital.

Vaccination of the population is the most effective method of disease prevention. In anticipation of the summer health campaign, healthcare workers remind parents of the importance of vaccination and recommend that children aged 12 to 17 years undergo it. In the region, 22.4% of the total number of this age category have been vaccinated.

"Overall, 70.9% of the region's residents have received the first component of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 69.4% of citizens have received both components. Booster vaccination is also actively carried out: about 100,000 residents of Vitebsk region have undergone it," the regional center for hygiene, epidemiology, and public health reported.
