Regional Health Department: The incidence rate of COVID-19 in the Vitebsk region is decreasing by 3% weekly
Over the past three weeks, there has been a decrease in the incidence of coronavirus in the Vitebsk region by approximately 3%, reported Lyudmila Kovaleva, Deputy Head of the Main Healthcare Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The number of patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 admitted for inpatient treatment in the Vitebsk region is gradually decreasing. "Over the past three weeks, the incidence rate has begun to slowly but steadily decrease - by about 3%. Gradually, central district hospitals are returning to their normal operating mode. Last week, healthcare facilities in three districts returned to their pre-COVID schedule - in Braslav, Lepel, and Chashniki (Novolukoml Central District Hospital). This week, the normal operating mode will be established in Beshenkovichi, Miory, and Ushachi Central District Hospitals. In Ushachi, they will completely stop hospitalizing patients with COVID-19. In Vitebsk, the obstetric and gynecological building of the emergency hospital (BSMP), where coronavirus patients were previously accommodated, is also returning to its previous operating mode," said Lyudmila Kovaleva.
She added that today patients with COVID-19 are still being hospitalized in infectious and repurposed departments of seven central district hospitals (Verkhnedvinskaya, Glubokskaya, Gorodokskaya, Dokshitskaya, Lioznenskaya, Postavskaya, Sennenskaya), the Vitebsk Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital, the therapeutic building of the BSMP, the nephrology building of the regional clinical hospital, and the regional clinical center for pulmonology and phthisiology.
Vaccination of medical and pedagogical workers, social service workers, and citizens of vulnerable categories also continues in the region. About 50,000 people have already been vaccinated with two components of the COVID-19 vaccine.
