Regional Health Department: 5 Central District Hospitals in Vitebsk Region to Return to Normal Operations This Week

More healthcare facilities in the Vitebsk region are returning to their usual operating mode this week. This was announced by Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee.

A decrease in the incidence of COVID-19 allows for the gradual introduction of the normal patient reception mode in the region's healthcare facilities. "This work began back in late 2020. Last week, the Regional Clinical Specialized Center resumed its normal operations. Today, the Regional Clinical Center for Medical Rehabilitation for Disabled and Veterans of Combat Operations in Other States has switched to its usual mode," noted Mikhail Vishnevetsky.

He added that this week, the central district hospitals (CDHs) in Dubrovno, Sharkovshchina, Rossony, Ushachi, and Tolochin will return to their usual operating mode. "In all other CDHs, there is a gradual repurposing of beds or departments that can admit patients with diseases not related to COVID-19," said the head of the regional healthcare department.

In Vitebsk, hospitalization of patients with coronavirus at the City Central Clinical Hospital and City Clinical Hospital No. 1 has been suspended since last week. Patients with COVID-19 currently there are still undergoing treatment. New patients with coronavirus are now being admitted to the Regional Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, Vitebsk City Emergency Medical Care Clinical Hospital, and the urology building of the Regional Clinical Hospital. Residents of the region who have had COVID-19 continue their rehabilitation at the "Zhelezniki" Rehabilitation Center of the Regional Cardiology Center and the "Yurtsevo" Regional Hospital for Disabled Veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
