The Vitebsk broiler poultry farm launched an updated compound feed production

Обновленное комбикормовое производство запустили на Витебской бройлерной птицефабрике

The compound feed production facility at Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Factory OJSC has been officially opened after a large-scale reconstruction. The green light for the launch of the updated facility was given by pressing a symbolic button by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Head of State in the Vitebsk region, Igor Sergeenko, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, and the General Director of the enterprise, Anna Norkus.

The enterprise implemented the reconstruction project for the compound feed production with active state support within the framework of the State Program "Agrarian Business" for 2021-2025.

– The project is autonomous and covers our entire cycle. Thanks to the implementation of this project, we fully cover the needs of our enterprise in feed for poultry and cattle. Also, thanks to the project, we have a new feed workshop, workshop No. 2, which will produce feed for the parent stock and finishing livestock. A workshop for soybean processing and grain extrusion has also been established. The elevator storage capacity has been increased. Now we will be able to store more than 130 thousand tons of grain simultaneously, – clarified Olga Basko, Deputy General Director for Compound Feed Production.

The modern, high-tech facility was opened with the participation of the President's Aide – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Vladimir Yurgevich, and the Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank, Sergey Stolyarchuk.

– You have long gone beyond the scope of a factory; you are now a diversified agro-industrial company, combining both production and processing, and you are a leading enterprise not only in the Vitebsk region but also in our country. Five years ago, I visited your enterprise and saw the numerous construction projects that were completed in 2022, new facilities were opened, and they are functioning successfully. Today, you have a foundation for the future, – noted Igor Sergeenko, congratulating the team on the opening of the production facility.

He noted that the products of the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm are in demand not only in Belarus but also far abroad, and wished the team new labor successes.

Poultry farm workers and representatives of construction organizations were presented with letters of gratitude from the House of Representatives, the regional and district executive committees.

The enterprise is actively developing and commissioning new facilities ahead of schedule and with cost savings, emphasized the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin. The most important thing, according to him, is that ideas often outpace capabilities. The head of the northern region added that another project at the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm has been successfully implemented, which will allow for the separation of compound feed production for different groups of animals and poultry and will fully cover the enterprise's need for feed for its existing livestock.

"A complete closed cycle has been achieved – from the field with rapeseed and grain to the counter with the company's branded products," he added.

Financing was carried out through credit funds from OJSC "Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus". The Chairman of the Bank's Board, Sergey Stolarchuk, recalled that it was from this facility in 2012 that cooperation with the enterprise began. At that time, the bank started financing the first facility at the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm.

"Today, we are opening a modernized complex that has increased its capacity by almost half. Behind our cooperation are six major implemented investment projects – these are projects aimed at increasing efficiency, import substitution, reducing costs, and expanding the range of manufactured products," concluded Sergey Stolarchuk.

Deputy Director of UTSChP "Stroysfera" Dmitry Rymkevich emphasized that it was a great honor and responsibility for the company to act as the general contractor. He thanked the construction teams who participated in the construction at all stages. He handed over the symbolic key to the management of the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm.

– We understand what we are doing and why, we set tasks and goals, we move towards them and achieve them. And when there is such support from the government, programs that allow for the development of production, only the lazy person can fail to take advantage of this and not do what we are doing today, working for the future. Today, there is support from our authorities at all stages, no matter when you turn to them. Therefore, I believe that we have no right to do otherwise. And when they say that we have done well, we want to do even better, – noted Anna Norkus.

The reconstruction carried out will increase the production capacity of the feed mill from 154 thousand tons to 225 thousand tons of finished products per year, and increase the storage volume for grain and protein raw materials. This production will also optimize costs, guarantee consistently high quality of the feed base, and fully meet the enterprise's needs for feed for its poultry and cattle population.

Construction work on the facility began in February 2024 and was completed in September 2025. Thanks to the professionalism, competent approach, and dedication of the specialists, it was built 5 months ahead of the standard construction period. During construction, it was possible to reduce the total estimated cost of the project by more than 9%.

A new workshop for soybean processing and grain extrusion has been launched at the compound feed production facility, which will reduce the purchase of expensive imported soybean meal by 90%. As a consequence, the cost price of feed will decrease, and its nutritional value will increase. The commissioning of the workshop will allow for the separation of compound feed production intended for different groups of animals and poultry.
