The regional prosecutor's offices systematically carry out work on the prevention of corruption
Thus, the head of the department for combating corruption and organized crime, Lapkovsky E.A., and the prosecutor of the department, Zaitsev P.M., spoke at a seminar organized by the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office jointly with the Vitebsk Regional Union of Employers and held at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Representatives of more than 40 economic entities of both state and private ownership participated in this "open" forum. The participants were informed about the main provisions of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Combating Corruption", which entered into force in 2016, the duties and responsibilities of heads of state bodies and organizations for failure to take measures to combat corruption, issues of planning anti-corruption measures, and the creation and activities of anti-corruption commissions. Attention was focused on the need to carry out preventive measures in the sphere of financial and economic activities (contract work, procurement, asset inventory, leasing and other disposal of enterprise property, etc.).
The speakers drew attention to the increased requirements for managerial staff and employees of organizations, and highlighted additional grounds for termination of employment relations with public officials due to the latter's violation of obligations to comply with the restrictions provided for by anti-corruption legislation, as well as the commission of both corruption offenses and offenses that create conditions for corruption.
During the seminar, prosecutors answered numerous questions from the attendees, thoroughly осветив aspects of the practical application of certain provisions of anti-corruption legislation.
