Prosecutor's offices of the region, with on-site visits, have studied the issues of crop harvesting

In general, farm managers and local authorities are taking measures to comply with industry regulations regarding the timely harvesting of agricultural crops. According to the order of the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, problem farms have been assigned to the chairmen of district executive committees.

The inspection showed that the objective reasons for the prolonged harvesting operations were the waterlogged and excessively wet fields and access roads. In addition, the maturity phase of plants (corn) was delayed.

It was also found that the agronomic services of the farms have organized crop rotation and the choice of cultivated crops irrationally and often without considering the soil composition characteristics. Access roads for agricultural machinery to the fields are not being improved. Due to the remoteness of the fields, the time required for the delivery of machinery, fertilizers, and plant protection products increases.

For example, the yield of grain and leguminous crops (excluding corn) in the Orsha district was 45 c/ha, in the Dubrovno district – 44.2 c/ha. At the same time, in Braslav district – 24.2 c/ha, Gorodok district – 25.8 c/ha. The yield of potatoes in the Vitebsk district is 297 c/ha, Sennensk district – 261 c/ha, and in Braslav district – 76 c/ha, Sharkovshchina district – 79 c/ha.

In addition, the issue of low quality of machinery supplied to the farms of the region and the lack of design improvements, taking into account the specifics of the waterlogged fields of the northern region, remains problematic.

For instance, 65 KVK-800 forage harvesters under warranty are operated in the farms of the region, with 66 instances of equipment breakdown due to the fault of the manufacturer recorded.

429 tractors under warranty are in use, with 367 breakdowns recorded among them. The largest number of defects were identified during the operation of Belarus-3522 tractors: 104 breakdowns for 59 units.

Overall, previously identified violations of legislation in livestock breeding have been eliminated throughout the region. However, it was established that in some farms of the region, livestock facilities are not

buildings and premises were fully prepared for housing livestock for winter stall keeping (Ushachi, Vitebsk, Gorodok, Polotsk, and Sharkovshchina districts).

Based on the results of the inspections conducted by district prosecutors, 7 submissions were prepared for district executive committees, and the regional prosecutor's office sent an informational note to the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

The prosecutor's offices of the region continue to inspect compliance with legislative requirements during autumn field work and preparation of facilities for the winter period.
