11.06.2026
The organizer is the Republican Institute for Vocational Education. The seminar brought together the professional community from all over the country – representatives of the main education departments from all regions of Belarus are taking part in its work. As well as directors of leading colleges of the republic, who came to share their successful experience.
– The main task and key goal of the event is to build a full-fledged and effective interaction between educational institutions and organizations that order personnel. Since colleges train qualified workers and specialists for the real sector of the economy, close integration with employers is vital, – noted Natalia Golubovskaya, Head of the Center for Scientific and Methodological Support of Vocational and Secondary Specialized Education of RIPO. – Enterprises that order personnel do not just wait for graduates, but also directly participate in the educational process – they are involved in the development of educational programs for all specialties. This format of work is extremely important, as each region of the country has its own specifics and economic features.
The seminar program traditionally includes visits not only to educational institutions, but also to enterprises in the Orsha region. This will allow participants to see how the production training process is organized, under what conditions students undergo internships, and how their further guaranteed employment is ensured.
On the eve of the event, the Head of the Department of Vocational Education of the Main Department for Education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Korolev, told a correspondent of "VV" about the development of the vocational education system in the region and why the institutions of Orsha have become key platforms for this event.
– The choice of the Orsha district for holding a large-scale seminar is not accidental. Various directions of vocational training are seriously developed here. One of the striking and positive examples is the established system of interaction between the G. Semenov Orsha State Textile College and the flagship of Belarusian industry – the Orsha Flax Mill. The peculiarity of cooperation lies in the fact that the entire training process is organized directly at the enterprise. Starting from acquiring initial professional skills to industrial practice, students undergo training in real workshops, – emphasized Alexander Korolev. – This approach allows future specialists to immediately get accustomed to the profession and understand the specifics of the work in detail. From school desks and during their studies, children see their future workplaces, know the conditions in which they will have to work, and understand what awaits them after graduation. This is the most important and extremely effective element of career guidance work.
He announced that the main task that the Department of Education sets for itself, together with the regional and district executive committees, as well as with enterprises that order personnel, is the training of those specialists who are urgently needed by the modern economy, especially in conditions of a shortage of skilled labor.
– Vitebsk region is actively implementing innovations in the educational process. The creation of resource centers (competence centers) has become a crucial tool for high-quality personnel training. Currently, 7 such centers are successfully operating in the Vitebsk region, covering the leading sectors of the region – 2 centers of agricultural profile, 2 of light industry, 1 in the public catering sector, and 1 in mechanical engineering of actual republican significance based at the Orsha Mechanical-Economic College, where specialists from all over the country come to study and improve their qualifications. Currently, the eighth competence center, specializing in automotive technologies, is being established at the Vitebsk Technical College. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it will focus on working with electric vehicles, – said Alexander Korolyov.
One of the key venues of the event was the Orsha State Mechanical-Economic College. The director of the institution, Alexey Karmanov, noted that the educational institution is a base for training specialists in mechanical engineering, which is extremely relevant for Orsha as a major mechanical engineering hub. The college closely cooperates with 11 basic enterprises. Among them are the Orsha Tool Plant, Krasny Borrets Machine Tool Plant, Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant, and others.
Seminar participants will visit the Orsha Flax Mill, the N. Kornayonok State Food College, the Tool Plant, and the Orsha State Agrarian College.
