From Polotsk to Senno. Where will new tourist locations appear in the Vitebsk region thanks to preferential lending?

The tourism industry of the Vitebsk region is experiencing a large-scale upswing, supported by serious financial assistance. In the near future, the implementation of large-scale projects for the construction of tourism industry facilities is planned directly in Vitebsk itself, as well as in the Braslav, Vitebsk, Dokshitsy, Orsha, Miory, Postavy, Senno, and Tolochin districts.

The Polotsk district has become the absolute leader in the number of applications submitted for the development of tourist infrastructure, with five promising proposals received. At the same time, practical work on a number of areas has already entered an active phase. To date, three loan agreements have been successfully concluded. The allocated resources will be directed towards financing the construction of a modern hotel and a large tourist complex in the Polotsk district, as well as a hunting lodge in the Senno district.

Such dynamic development of infrastructure and capital inflow is largely facilitated by the favorable investment climate created in the republic. Unique preferential resources are available to investors today. In particular, small and medium-sized enterprises can count on obtaining loans from OJSC "Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus" in the amount of up to 5 million rubles for a period of up to 5 years at a favorable interest rate of 6.13% per annum.

Another powerful incentive is a specialized credit product called "Tourism Potential." Under this offer, investors can receive financing of up to 100 million rubles for a period of up to 15 years. Moreover, during the first seven years of using the loan, a reduced interest rate of only 6.0% per annum will be applied.

Thanks to attractive financial instruments, the number of loan applications from regional investors and organizations shows stable growth. In 2026, OJSC "Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus" has already approved 79 applications totaling over 45 million rubles under the preferential product "Support for the Tourism Sector and Related Services." In addition, another 18 large-scale projects with a total financing volume of over 119 million rubles have been officially included in the list for lending using the preferential product "Tourism Potential."

Comprehensive state support and the inflow of private investment will significantly improve the quality of services provided, create new jobs in the regions, and make the Vitebsk region even more attractive to Belarusian and foreign travelers.
