From Construction Site to State Awards: Results of the Working Visit of the Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky to Vitebsk
29.05.2026
The working visit of the Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky to Vitebsk began with an inspection of a key infrastructure facility – the construction of a transport and logistics center. The "Vitebsk-Beltamožservis" project is being implemented as part of the large-scale state program "One District – One Project".
Specialists note that the new TLC promises to become one of the most modern and efficient logistics complexes in Belarus. Currently, the construction readiness of the facility exceeds 50%, and the commissioning of the complex is planned for early 2027.
The technical characteristics of the facility are impressive: total area of 12.9 hectares; warehouse complex of 5.6 thousand sq. m, including 6 specialized refrigeration chambers; parking lots for trucks and cars, designed for a total of 130 parking spaces.
The strategic advantage of the center is its location. Proximity to the railway and airfield opens up unique opportunities for the development of multimodal transportation. This will allow for prompt transshipment of goods between road and rail transport, as well as the use of aviation logistics.
The visit continued with a meeting between Vladimir Orlovsky and the personnel of the Vitebsk customs. During the conversation, the Chairman of the State Customs Committee outlined the priority tasks facing the department in the current situation.
As part of the unified information day, the head of the committee touched upon the topic of the country's internal potential, talking about new promising areas for tourism development in Belarus. Vladimir Orlovsky also answered topical questions from customs officers regarding their service activities and social security.
The culmination of the meeting was a solemn ceremony. The Chairman of the State Customs Committee presented state awards to employees who achieved high results in law enforcement activities and made a significant contribution to ensuring the country's economic security.
The final item on the visit agenda was Vladimir Orlovsky's participation in the meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The key topic of discussion was the effectiveness of socio-economic development of the Vitebsk region in the current year.
