«He took revenge..»

Committing administrative offenses on the territory of the railway station in Polotsk resulted in criminal liability for a local resident.

It would seem, what serious offense did he commit – he smoked where it is prohibited and crossed the railway tracks in an unauthorized place?

Everything happened one summer morning when a resident of Polotsk, Vasily (personal data changed), decided to go to work by diesel train. After drinking a little wine at home, he went to the railway station, where he smoked a cigarette on the platform. For this violation, he was brought to administrative responsibility by employees of the internal affairs bodies on transport. After paying the fine on the spot, Vasily crossed the railway tracks in an unauthorized place, for which he was also held responsible by the same employees, but under a different article of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

Harboring resentment towards the police officers, Vasily decided to take revenge on the vigilant law enforcement officers. To do this, he called the "102" hotline and provided false information about a crime committed against him by police officers – the open theft of his bag with belongings and money. He confirmed this information to the investigative-operational group that arrived at the scene. The conducted check established that the information provided by Vasily was unreliable, and his actions were nothing more than a knowingly false denunciation.

By the verdict of the Polotsk District and City Court, Vasily was brought to criminal responsibility under Part 2 of Article 400 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus to 1 year of imprisonment with a 1-year deferral.
