Got too nervous

A three-year suspended prison sentence, one hundred hours of community service, and criminal legal compensation in the amount of 40 base units (1020) rubles marked the end of a trip by a resident of the Republic of Belarus to the Northern Capital.

Initially, it is worth noting that our protagonist, N., is a rather anxious person, as this is how he explained his behavior in court.

It all started when N. needed to go to the Academy of Veterinary Medicine to confirm his qualifications. His anxiety grew with each passing day. Shortly before the trip, he saw his mother taking sedatives prescribed by her doctor. N. decided to secretly "borrow" a few pills from his mother to calm his nerves. The pills did help – he began to feel much calmer.

After passing the necessary exams, N. decided to celebrate his success by drinking a "small" bottle of vodka. Upon arriving at the Vitebsk railway station for his onward journey home, he was detained by police officers because he was not entirely sober. During a personal search, our protagonist was found to be in possession of 3 tablets of "Diazepam" (a dangerous psychotropic substance).

Subsequently, during the preliminary investigation, N. was charged with the theft of psychotropic substances and the illegal possession and transportation of psychotropic substances. For these crimes, N. was subsequently convicted.
