Prospects for dairy plant, agricultural enterprise: Kochanova visits Polotsk District

Перспективы развития молочного комбината и агропредприятия: Кочанова посетила Полоцкий район

An open discussion about the fate of the Polotsk dairy plant and the development prospects of OJSC "Novyye Goryany" was held by the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, Natalya Kochanova, with the work collectives of these enterprises during a working trip to the Vitebsk region, BelTA reports.

Natalya Kochanova said that the residents of Polotsk had appealed to the Council of the Republic with the hope of learning about the fate of one of the largest enterprises in the district - the dairy plant. Meeting with the employees on site, the speaker emphasized that transformations are forthcoming, which will only benefit everyone. After the completion of the deal to acquire the plant at market appraised value, the plant will become part of OJSC "Savushkin Product", whose management plans to completely modernize it, introduce innovative technologies, and create a modern, efficiently operating enterprise with comfortable working conditions for people.
"This issue is under our control in the Council of the Republic and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. And most importantly, this issue is under the control of the President of our country. At the meeting on the development of the Vitebsk region, concerning the problematic issues voiced by the President, a clear task was set - first of all, we must preserve the work collectives, and the enterprises must work efficiently. Therefore, in accordance with the instructions of the head of state, an absolutely correct and well-thought-out decision was made regarding the Polotsk Dairy Plant. "Savushkin Product" is an enterprise known not only in our country but also far beyond its borders. And together with the management of this enterprise and the leadership of the Vitebsk region, we decided to meet with the work collective to tell people what awaits them in the future, and the future is excellent today. We see how efficiently the enterprises that are part of the "Savushkin Product" holding operate, what super-modern technologies they have, super-modern production facilities, a great social package for people, decent wages, and already more than 10,000 employees. For the Polotsk Dairy Plant, the investor proposes to carry out a complete reconstruction of the enterprise before the New Year, which will produce practically the same products that are currently produced," emphasized the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, adding that all jobs will be preserved.
Employees of the combine were interested in whether Polotsk could provide jobs for those who wished to change their place of work. The Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Vasily Shilov, noted that there would be vacancies in the city, so everyone who wished would be employed. The fate of the plant's brands, "Safiika," under which whole milk products are produced, and "Mi-Shu!" (curd snacks), also concerned people. The General Director of OJSC "Savushkin Product," Alexander Savchits, noted that well-established product names would be retained. The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Rogozhnik, emphasized that the investor who comes to the Polotsk region is domestic, interested in the development of a high-quality Belarusian product, and therefore will invest finances in both the modernization of production facilities and the promotion of Polotsk dairy products in domestic and foreign markets.

During a visit to OJSC "Novye Goryany," Natalia Kochanova was informed about the progress of the sowing campaign. She also communicated with the staff of the agricultural organization. The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic announced that the enterprise's development strategy has been formulated, and sources of funding have been found for the purchase of seeds, feed, and new equipment. "Novye Goryany" plans to build a modern dairy complex in the future. In the long term, new housing will be built for young employees in the agro-town of the same name. The speaker urged the staff of the agricultural enterprise to work diligently, maintain order on the farms, and properly care for the animals so that products can be supplied to the Polotsk dairy plant.

"Today, the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region is under the control of the President. We must work well, and we all understand perfectly that there will be no results without hard work," the speaker emphasized.
